Hard Maple Lumber

Forest Product Distributors sources hard maple from the Northern Region of the US. Typical thicknesses include 25mm and 50mm, however, other thicknesses may be available upon request. We are able to offer hard maple in NHLA approved grades including FAS, 1 common, 2 common, and 3 common. Furthermore, we can offer both sorted and unsorted color hard maple. All of the hard maple lumber we sell is kiln dried and rough surfaced.

Hard Maple Uses

Hard maple wood is the strongest, stiffest, hardest, and densest of all of the species of Maple. As a result, hard maple is well suited for a wide range of uses including flooring (gymnasium, ballroom, and residential), furniture, cabinetry, table tops, millwork, moldings, doors, paneling, veneer, paper, musical instruments, cutting boards, butcher blocks, workbenches, baseball bats, and turned objects. FPD sources this species from the Northern region of America. Hard maple has straight grains, nearly white to cream colored reddish sapwood, and darker reddish brown heartwood.
