FPD sources alder surfaced-two-sides (S2S) from the west coast of the USA. We are able to offer various grades each month including premium, #1 (cabinet/custom), and standard frame. These are all NHLA accepted grades for alder. All of our alder is kiln dried.

Alder Uses
Alder is the most abundant hardwood available in the Pacific Northwest region of the US. This species has a variety of applications including cabinetry, furniture, millwork, veneer, plywood, pallets, musical instruments, doors, shutters, moldings, turnings, and panel stock. This species has straight grain and light tan to reddish brown wood with no clear distinction between heartwood and sapwood.
