American Red Oak 

FPD maintains relationships with several suppliers of red oak. We are able to offer red oak from the Southern, Appalachian, and Northern regions of the USA. Typical thicknesses include 25mm and 50mm, however, other thicknesses may be available upon request. We are able to offer red oak in NHLA approved grades including FAS, FAS/1F, 1 common, 2 common, and 3 common. All of the red oak we sell is kiln dried and rough surfaced.

Red Oak Uses

Red Oak is one of the most widely used species of wood in the world. Red oak has a wide range of applications including flooring, furniture, cabinetry, architectural millwork, mouldings, doors, paneling, veneer, and joinery. Our red oak lumber is sourced from the Appalachian, Southern, and Northern regions of the US. This species has straight grain with a light to medium reddish-brown heartwood and white to light brown sapwood. Red oak has a high degree of workability especially with machine tools.
